How to join your Longvinter server

Launch Longvinter and wait for the main menu to load.

Open the Server Browser and search for your server's name or tag.

Or click Connect by IP at the top right and enter 203.0.113.24.

Type {SERVER_PASSWORD} if the server has a password, then connect.

Common problems

Join by IP with the game port, not the query port. The query port is only used for the server list.

The server password only takes letters and numbers. Symbols will break it.

Admin IDs come from Options, then General in game. Copy the long ID shown there, not your Steam name.

Don't use the word OFFICIAL in your server name or tag. Uuvana asks community servers to avoid it.

Server not responding

Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.

Use the server address

Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.

No port forwarding or firewall changes

Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.

Longvinter server hosting, explained

Longvinter is Uuvana Studios' open world multiplayer sandbox. You fish, farm, cook, craft and gather, build a camp or a whole village with friends, trade with other players, and, if the server allows it, loot or steal from them. It looks cozy, but PvP is on by default, so a server's rules decide whether it's a peaceful fishing village or a place where you lock your chests. The game reached its full 1.0 release in February 2025.

Official servers wipe on a schedule, which is a big reason groups run their own. On your server the island stays yours as long as you want it, and you choose who's in charge. Friend groups use private servers to build a village without strangers, and communities run public PvE servers with a clear tag so players looking for a peaceful game can find them.

Our panel covers server name, a server tag for search (PVE is a common one), max players, a password, a message of the day shown on signs around the island, a community website shown in game, PvP on or off, tent decay to clear out abandoned camps, and how many tents each player can place. Admins are added by account ID, with several IDs separated by spaces. One click backups protect the island before a game update.

Longvinter is well optimized and its server is easy to run. A group of friends fits on 4 GB. A community server with regular players is comfortable on 6 GB, and a public server running the full 32 slots, with lots of camps and tents spread across the island, is better on 8 GB. Tent limits and decay keep the world tidy as it grows.

Common questions

How many players can join a Longvinter server?

The default is 32 and you can change it with Max Players in the panel. More players means more camps, so move up a plan if you raise it a lot.

How do I make myself an admin?

Find your account ID in game under Options, then General, put it in the Admin ID setting and restart. Add more admins by separating their IDs with spaces.

Can I run a PvE Longvinter server?

Yes. Turn Enable PVP off, and set the server tag to PVE so players searching for a peaceful server can find you.

What does tent decay do?

It removes tents that have been abandoned, so inactive players don't leave camps all over the island. Pair it with Max Tents to control how much each player can claim.

How do I join a Longvinter server by IP?

Open the Server Browser, click Connect by IP at the top right, and enter the server's IP and game port.

Does my server wipe like the official ones?

No. Your island only resets if you choose to. Take a backup first if you ever want a fresh start.

Does Longvinter support mods?

No. There is no official mod support. You shape a server through its settings and rules instead.

Can I put a password on my server?

Yes. Set Server Password in the panel using letters and numbers only, and share it with your group.

Is GamezServers affiliated with Longvinter?

No. You rent and control your own dedicated Longvinter server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.

Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
