Common problems
Can't connect after the UE5 update? Enhanced servers only take Steam players on the Enhanced build. Players on Epic, the Microsoft Store or Steam's Legacy branch need the Standard server type.
Mod mismatch on join: every player needs the same mods in the same load order as the server's modlist.txt. Old UE4 mods often need an update before they work on Enhanced.
Server missing from the browser? Search can take a few minutes after a restart. Use Direct Connect with the address instead of waiting.
To get admin in game, set an admin password in ServerSettings.ini, then open the console and type MakeMeAdmin followed by that password.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Modding your Conan Exiles server
Conan has a big Steam Workshop scene, from admin tools to whole new progression systems. Upload the mod pak files, list them in modlist.txt and have every player subscribe to the same set.
Conan Exiles server hosting, explained
Conan Exiles drops you naked in the desert of Hyboria and leaves you to build, tame and fight your way up. On a server, players form clans, raise fortresses, capture thralls to work their crafting stations and fight off purges. You can run it as a PvE build server, a full PvP raid server, or something in between with raid windows. Roleplay communities are a big part of the scene too, usually with a stack of mods.
In May 2026 Funcom moved the Steam version to Conan Exiles Enhanced, an Unreal Engine 5 upgrade that also merged the Isle of Siptah into the Exiled Lands. Players on the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store stayed on the older Legacy build, and Steam players can still pick Legacy as a beta branch. Our panel has both server types: Enhanced for Steam, Standard for Legacy. Clients have to match the server, so pick the one your group plays.
Your own server means your rules: harvest rates, building decay, raid hours, purge strength, thrall limits and who gets admin. The server name and password are in the panel, and the rest lives in ServerSettings.ini, which you edit in the file manager. Workshop mods work too. Upload the pak files over SFTP, list them in modlist.txt and share the list with your players.
Conan is one of the hungrier survival games to host. Big bases with hundreds of placeables, lots of thralls and a long mod list all push memory up, and Enhanced uses noticeably more than the old build. A small clan of friends runs on 8 GB. A 20 to 30 player server or a modded roleplay setup belongs on 12 GB, a busy 40 player PvP server on 16 GB, and 24 GB is there for huge modded worlds.

Common questions
Should I pick the Enhanced or Standard server type?
Pick Enhanced if your group plays the current Steam version. Pick Standard if players are on the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store or Steam's Legacy branch. The client and server builds have to match.
How many players can a Conan Exiles server hold?
Funcom's own servers run 40 players. On a private server you set the cap in ServerSettings.ini, so match it to your group and your plan size.
Does Conan Exiles have crossplay with console?
No. Console players can't join PC servers, and the PC side is split between Enhanced and Legacy. Your server runs one PC build at a time.
Do my old mods work on Enhanced?
Not automatically. UE4 mods have to be updated by their authors for the UE5 build. Check each mod's Workshop page before moving a modded server to Enhanced.
How do I install Steam Workshop mods?
Upload each mod's pak file to the server's Mods folder with SFTP, list them in modlist.txt in load order and restart. Players subscribe to the same mods on Steam.
Where did the Isle of Siptah go?
On Enhanced, Siptah is merged into the Exiled Lands, so one server covers both and you no longer need a separate Siptah server.
How do I make myself admin?
Set an admin password in ServerSettings.ini, join the server, open the console and type MakeMeAdmin followed by the password. That opens the admin panel in game.
How do I make my server private?
Set a server password in the panel and restart. Players then need it when they connect through the browser or Direct Connect.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Conan Exiles?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Conan Exiles server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
