What comes set up on a Space Engineers server
A world that keeps working
Refineries refine, assemblers build and drills fill cargo while nobody is on, ready for the next shift.
Workshop mods
Turn on experimental mode, add Workshop mods to the world, and players pick them up automatically when they join.
Programmable blocks
Switch on in-game scripts so your engineers can run inventory managers, autopilots and status screens.
Torch server type
Switch to Torch in the panel for community plugins like Essentials: grid cleanup, admin commands and timed restarts.

Common problems
Mods not loading? Enable Experimental Mode must be on before the server will load any Workshop mod.
Do not change World Name after the first start. The save folder is named after it and the server will not find the world.
Server getting slower over weeks? Abandoned grids and debris pile up. Clean them out with admin tools, or a Torch cleanup plugin, and lag drops.
After a game update, Torch can lag behind for a day or two. Switch to the Standard type for a while if your group can't wait.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Modding your Space Engineers server
Space Engineers has one of the biggest Steam Workshop libraries around, from new blocks and weapons to whole gameplay overhauls. On the Torch server type you can add server plugins on top.
Space Engineers server hosting, explained
Space Engineers is an engineering sandbox from Keen Software House where you design ships, stations and planetary bases block by block, then fly them, mine with them and crash them into each other. Everything is physics driven and destructible. On a server, groups build shared factions, run mining operations, haul ore between planets and moons, or fight rival factions for territory.
A server keeps the world ticking for everyone. Refineries keep refining and builds are still there when a friend logs in alone at 2 a.m. Survival brings resources, power, oxygen and hydrogen into play; Creative is pure building. Some groups run cooperative factions, others run PvP worlds with rules on grid size and block limits. Admins can set block limits and PCU caps so nobody builds a ship that drags the whole server down.
Our panel covers game mode, max players, server name and description, saving and the auto save interval, in-game scripts, experimental mode and the Remote API. Workshop mods need experimental mode switched on. You can also switch the server type to Torch, a community wrapper around the dedicated server that adds plugins for admin tools, grid cleanup and performance. The Remote API lets outside tools talk to the server if you use them.
Space Engineers sizing is about grids. Every block on every ship and station counts, and memory grows with world size, block count and mods more than with players alone. A small survival server for a few friends runs on 8 GB. Busier servers with mods or big stations want 12 GB, and 16 GB suits large modded worlds. Clearing out abandoned grids helps more than anything.

Common questions
How do I join a Space Engineers dedicated server?
Open Join Game, click Direct Connect, enter the server address and connect. Add it to favorites so it is there next time.
How many players should I allow?
Our setup starts at 4 and you can raise it in the panel. Block count and mods limit a Space Engineers server more than player count does.
How do I add Workshop mods?
Turn on Enable Experimental Mode in the panel, then add the mod IDs to the world's mod list in its config. Players download them automatically when they join.
What is the Torch server type?
Torch is a community made wrapper around the dedicated server that adds plugins, admin tools and performance options. The Standard type runs the plain server.
Can I upload my single player world?
Yes. Upload the save over SFTP into the server's saves folder, renamed to match the World Name setting, and restart. Back up the current world first.
Why is my server lagging?
Usually too many grids, especially abandoned ships and debris. Clean them up, limit block counts or add a cleanup plugin on Torch.
How much RAM does a Space Engineers server need?
8 GB for a small survival group, 12 GB for busier or modded servers, and 16 GB for big modded worlds.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Space Engineers?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Space Engineers server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
