Crossplay that console players can actually see
The Crossplay type sets the rules for you
A crossplay server only shows up for PS5 and Xbox players when it meets every requirement The Fun Pimps set. Miss one and console friends simply never find it, while PC players see it fine.
The Crossplay server type turns crossplay on, keeps Easy Anti-Cheat on and caps the server at 8 players. That leaves two things in your hands: keep the world size at 8K or smaller, and keep your sandbox code inside the allowed ranges.
Know the limits before you pick
Crossplay is great for mixed groups, with honest trade offs. It allows up to 8 players whatever plan you choose, and it runs no mods at all, not even small modlets.
Your Sandbox code has limits too: blood moon enemy count between 4 and 64, loot abundance at 200% or lower, loot respawn of at least 5 days, day length of at least 10 minutes, XP between 25% and 300%, and block damage values of at least 25%. Go outside them and the server becomes PC only. If your group wants overhauls or more than 8 players, the PC server type is the right call.
Starter is the right size
Since crossplay stops at 8 players, the Starter plan matches it exactly: 8 GB of RAM for 19.99 USD a month, sized for a vanilla world on Navezgane or a random generated world. Smaller 4K and 6K random worlds generate faster, and 8K gives you a large map. Leave out the 10K size, which crossplay does not allow.
New customers get 50% off the first month, and the group can split the bill so each player pays their own share from a link.
How everyone joins
PC players click Join a Game, then Connect to IP, and enter the IP and port in separate boxes. Console players find the server by name in the server browser, so give it a name worth searching for.
Everyone must be on the same game version as the server, and the server updates itself on every restart. Console patches can arrive at a different time than Steam's, so after an update one platform may need to wait before joining.

Common problems
IP and port go in separate boxes
Type the part of the address before the colon as the IP, and the number after it as the port.
Version mismatch
Your game must be on the same version as the server. If the server runs an older branch for mods, pick that branch under Betas in the game's Steam properties.
First start takes a while
A new random world is generated on the first start, which can take 10 minutes or more on big sizes. Wait until the dashboard shows the server running.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Common questions
Can PlayStation and Xbox players join my 7 Days to Die server?
Yes. Choose the Crossplay server type. Crossplay servers allow up to 8 players, keep Easy Anti-Cheat on and cannot run mods.
Can I have more than 8 players with crossplay?
No. Crossplay caps the server at 8 players on every plan. For bigger groups, use the PC server type, which allows your plan's full player count without console players.
Why can my console friends not see the server?
Usually a sandbox value is outside the crossplay ranges, or the world size is above 8K. PC players see the server either way.
Can I use mods on a crossplay server?
No. Crossplay needs Easy Anti-Cheat on and no mods. Run a separate PC server for modded play.
Can I change blood moon frequency and horde size?
Yes, through the Sandbox code setting. Keep the blood moon enemy count between 4 and 64 and the other values inside the crossplay ranges.
Can I switch a PC server to crossplay later?
Yes. Change the server type in the panel. Your world is backed up first, and any mods need to come out.
Do big mods need more RAM?
Yes. Overhaul mods run best on 12 GB or more.
Can I change the blood moon frequency and horde size?
Yes. Since V3 these live in the sandbox code: set blood moon, loot, XP and difficulty in the Sandbox Options screen when starting a new game, copy the code, paste it in the Sandbox code setting and restart. No new world needed.
Can PlayStation and Xbox players join?
Yes. Choose the Crossplay server type. Crossplay servers allow up to 8 players, keep Easy Anti-Cheat on and cannot run mods.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
