What comes set up on a PixARK server

Your own voxel world

A generated cube world that belongs to your tribe. Dig, build and tame without wipes or official server rules.

Rates you choose

Change harvest, taming, XP and day length in GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini, then restart to apply.

Server and admin passwords

Lock the world with a server password and give trusted players the admin password for console commands.

Bases safe offline

Your tames and builds stay put while you are away, and one click backups protect the world before big changes.

How to join your PixARK server

  1. 1

Launch PixARK on Steam and choose Join Game.

  2. 2

Change the server filter at the bottom of the list to Unofficial.

  3. 3

Search for your server's name and select it.

  4. 4

Click join and enter the server password if one is set.

Common problems

Your server is under Unofficial in the in-game list. Switch the filter at the bottom before searching, or you will only see official servers.

Server Name cannot contain spaces, since it also names the world. Use underscores or one word, such as Cube_Tribe.

The first start generates the world and can take several minutes. Wait for the console to report a full startup before joining.

Rate changes in the .ini files only apply after a restart. Stop the server first, edit, then start, or the server may overwrite your edits on shutdown.

Server not responding

Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.

Use the server address

Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.

No port forwarding or firewall changes

Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.

PixARK server hosting, explained

PixARK is Snail Games' blocky spin on the ARK formula: gather, craft, tame dinosaurs and mythical creatures, and build bases out of voxels in a world you can dig straight through. Tribes work together to survive the biomes and dungeons, and on PvP servers they raid each other. It came out in 2019 and is no longer getting big updates, but it still has players who like its relaxed, Minecraft style take on survival.

Official servers come with official rates and strangers. Most people who rent a PixARK server want a private world for a tribe of friends, where tames and bases are safe while everyone is offline, rates match how much time the group actually has, and nobody wipes the map out from under them. Small PvP communities also run their own with custom rules.

Our panel sets the server name, server password, admin password, max players and ports. GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini are in the file manager for harvest and taming rates, XP, day and night length, and PvE or PvP rules. Admins log in through the in-game console with the admin password to spawn items, teleport and fix problems. Take a one click backup before you change rates or try a risky console command.

PixARK is an Unreal Engine survival game with a generated voxel world, and the world save and active creatures take real memory. A small tribe of friends fits on 8 GB. Busy servers with many tames and bases spread across the map want 12 GB, and a large server pushing toward 70 players should take 16 GB. You can move between plans at any time if the world grows.

Common questions

How many players can a PixARK server hold?

Set Maximum Players in the panel. Our setup starts at 10, private tribes rarely need more than 20, and big public servers commonly run around 70.

How do I find my PixARK server in game?

In the in-game server list, switch the filter at the bottom to Unofficial and search for your server name.

Can I change taming and harvest rates?

Yes. Edit GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini in the file manager while the server is stopped, then start it again.

How do I use admin commands?

Open the in-game console and type enablecheats followed by the admin password from the panel. Then you can use admin commands.

Do players need to own PixARK to join?

Yes, each player needs PixARK on Steam. The dedicated server runs from our panel and does not need its own copy.

Can I make the server private?

Set a Server Password in the panel. Only players who type it can join, though the server still appears in the Unofficial list.

Is PixARK still updated?

Not much. The game is finished and receives little new content, but it is still playable and private servers work as before.

Does PixARK support mods on servers?

PixARK does not have a Workshop mod scene like ARK. Customization comes from the .ini settings and admin commands.

Is GamezServers affiliated with PixARK?

No. You rent and control your own dedicated PixARK server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.

Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
