Give the server a name nobody else uses and share the exact spelling, since that is how your crew finds it.
Players can't join after a game patch? Restart the server so auto update pulls the matching build.
The game does not run on Steam Deck, so Deck players in your group will need a PC.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
No Love Lost server hosting, explained
No Love Lost is a free to play PvPvE extraction game from Ratloop Games Canada. Crews of Raiders land on the bright, hostile planet Drosera to harvest Nectar, fight off local creatures and compete with rival crews doing the same thing. Raids run about 15 minutes. You ride hoverboards and hoverbikes across four biomes, revive teammates, and need to get out before night falls with what you collected.
The tension is in the other crews: work with them, avoid them, or ambush them on the way to extraction. That plays best with people you know, and it is why a private server makes sense here. Be aware the game is small and quiet, with only light update activity since 2024, so public matches can be thin. Your own server means your group always has somewhere to raid.
The panel covers the server name and auto update, which keeps the server on the same build as the game client. The live console shows joins and errors, and you can restart in seconds if a session gets stuck. Server files are in the file manager if you want to look at logs or config. Up to 10 friends can split the bill, each paying their own share, which suits a free game with a tight crew.
With ten players at most, sessions stay small. One crew playing a few raids a week runs fine on 4 GB. Full ten player raids most nights are smoother on 6 GB. Only go to 8 GB if you run long sessions back to back and want extra headroom. Nothing in this game needs more than that. You can change plans any time, and the bill is prorated.

Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
