A V Rising server costs about 15 to 40 USD a month hosted: 6 GB (14.99 USD) runs a PvE group of up to 10 friends, 8 GB (19.99 USD) a clan PvP server with 20 to 40 players, and 12 GB (29.99 USD) a full server with a heavy BepInEx mod stack like Bloodcraft. V Rising allows up to 40 players by default, and the mods run on the server only, so players never pay for or install anything extra. Split among a group of friends, the PvE tier is about 3 to 5 USD each.
Here is how to pick the right tier for your kind of server, what PvP communities spend beyond the plan, and how the free options compare.
Cost by server style
| Server style | Plan | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| PvE group of up to 10 friends | 6 GB | 14.99 USD |
| Clan PvP server, 20 to 40 players | 8 GB | 19.99 USD |
| Full server with a heavy BepInEx stack like Bloodcraft | 12 GB | 29.99 USD |
| Big modded community with extra headroom | 16 GB | 39.99 USD |

PvE with friends: the cheap tier
A PvE server for a small coven is the lightest way to run V Rising. Castles grow, but player count stays low and nobody is sieging anyone. The 6 GB plan carries it comfortably.
Settings that make PvE nights better cost nothing: higher resource yields, faster crafting, a shorter day, and castle decay off so nobody returns from a week away to a ruined base. Our guide on V Rising server settings explains each one, and changing settings on an existing server shows how to adjust them mid run.
Clan PvP: more players, more structure
PvP servers bring more players, more castles across the map and more fighting in the same place at once. The 8 GB plan suits 20 to 40 players. The extra costs of a PvP community are mostly not hosting:
- Wipes. PvP servers often reset on a schedule. A wipe costs nothing in hosting but takes admin time and announcements.
- Moderation. Rules for raiding, offline protection and siege windows, plus someone to enforce them.
- Admin tools. Mods like KindredCommands make running a public server easier.
- Discord. A home for announcements, clan recruitment and reports.
V Rising's own settings handle a lot of this: siege windows, castle heart limits per clan and clan size. See V Rising admin commands for the console side.
Modded servers: why Bloodcraft needs more
Popular V Rising mods run on BepInEx with VampireCommandFramework, and players join without installing anything. That makes modded servers popular, but large mods like Bloodcraft add systems for leveling, professions and more, all tracked on the server. A heavy stack is why the 12 GB tier exists. Our V Rising mod guide covers setup.
Cost per player
On a GamezServers split bill, each person pays an even share plus a 1 USD fee per share, with up to 10 payers:
| Plan | 4 players | 6 players | 10 players |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 GB (14.99) | about 4.75 each | about 3.50 each | about 2.50 each |
| 8 GB (19.99) | about 6.00 each | about 4.33 each | about 3.00 each |
| 12 GB (29.99) | about 8.50 each | about 6.00 each | about 4.00 each |
Bigger PvP communities with 20 or more players usually fund a server through clan leaders or donations rather than splitting it across everyone. See funding a community game server with donations.
The free options
Host a private game from V Rising
V Rising lets one player host a private game from the client. It is free, but the world only runs while the host plays, and the host's PC carries the server and the game at once. Fine for a duo playing the same evenings, frustrating for a group on different schedules.
Run the dedicated server yourself
The V Rising dedicated server is free on Steam. It is a Windows program, so on Linux it needs a compatibility layer such as Wine. Friends join on UDP 9876, with 9877 for the server list query, which means port forwarding on your router. You also keep it updated after every patch and back up the save. Our guide on how to host a V Rising server walks through it, and moving a save to a dedicated server brings your private game across.
Ways to spend less
- Match the tier to your style. A PvE group of six does not need the PvP plan.
- Add mods one at a time and check memory after each big one.
- Run seasons. PvP communities that wipe can drop to a smaller plan between seasons, or download the save and cancel during long breaks.
- Split it across your coven.

It is live in about a minute after paying, with its own address so nobody forwards ports. Settings from the server template are in the control panel, the file manager and SFTP take your save and mods, and one click backups protect your castles. Change plans any time with prorated billing as your clan grows.
