- Admin on a hosted server
To become admin on a V Rising server, add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt in the server's Settings folder, turn on Console Enabled under Options > General, press ~ in game and type adminauth. Admin commands then work from the console with no slash: kick, banuser, banned, unban, teleporttoplayer, give and more. You need to run adminauth again after every reconnect.
How do I make myself admin on a V Rising server?
- Find your SteamID64. It is the 17 digit number in your Steam profile URL (if you set a custom URL, open Account details in Steam, which shows it). It starts with
7656119. - Add it to
adminlist.txt. The file sits in theSettingsfolder of the server's persistent data path, next toServerHostSettings.json. One SteamID per line:
76561198000000001
76561198000000002
- Enable the console in your game. Open Options > General and tick Console Enabled.
- Join the server and authenticate. Press
~(the key under Esc) to open the console and type:
adminauth
The console confirms you are now an administrator for this session.
According to Stunlock's server instructions, you can edit adminlist.txt without restarting the server. The server rereads it every few minutes, so if adminauth fails right after you saved the file, wait a little or restart.
MaxConnectedAdmins in ServerHostSettings.json lets a few admins join even when the server is full, which matters on busy PvP servers when you need to deal with a problem.
What are the V Rising moderation commands?
Commands go in the console, not the chat box, and have no / prefix.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
kick <CharacterName> |
Removes a player from the server |
banuser <SteamID64> |
Bans a Steam account, works when the player is offline |
bancharacter <CharacterName> |
Bans the account behind an online character |
banusertemp <SteamID64> <Amount> <Unit> |
Temporary ban by SteamID |
bancharactertemp <CharacterName> <Amount> <Unit> |
Temporary ban by character |
banned |
Lists bans with an index number |
unban <Index> |
Lifts a ban, using the number from banned |
listusers |
Lists connected players. listusers true also shows offline ones |
playerinfo <CharacterName> |
Shows details about a player |
setplayermuted <Voice|Chat|Both> <CharacterName> <0|1> |
Mutes or unmutes a player |
renameplayer <Who> <NewName> |
Renames a character with an offensive name |
Bans made in game are written to banlist.txt in the same Settings folder. You can also edit that file by hand, one SteamID per line.
How do I teleport in V Rising as admin?
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
teleporttoplayer <Name> |
Moves you to a player |
teleportplayertome <Name> |
Pulls a player to you, handy for someone stuck in terrain |
playerteleport |
Teleports you to your mouse cursor |
teleporttochunk <X,Y> |
Moves you to the centre of a map chunk |
teleport <Who> <Where> |
General teleport for yourself or another player |

How do I give items and gear?
Item and gear commands run through V Rising's debug event system rather than plain admin rights:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
give <Item> [Amount] |
Spawns an item into your inventory |
giveset <PresetName> |
Gives a full gear set |
generatebloodpotion <Type> [Quality] |
Makes a blood potion of a given type |
changedurability <Amount> |
Repairs (or damages) your equipped gear |
Two keys in ServerHostSettings.json decide who can use them: AdminOnlyDebugEvents (normally true, so only admins) and DisableDebugEvents (normally false). If give does nothing even after adminauth, check that DisableDebugEvents has not been set to true. Never set AdminOnlyDebugEvents to false on a public server, or every player can spawn items.
Which commands help with server housekeeping?
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
triggerautosaveonserver |
Forces a save right now, useful before a restart |
servertime |
Shows the server's clock, which raid windows use |
toggleinvulnerable true |
God mode while you inspect a reported problem |
toggleobserve 1 |
Invisible observer mode for watching a suspected cheater |
addtime <Hours> |
Moves the day forward |
Be careful with anything that generates castles or forces crafting stations. Several debug commands for those keep firing until the server restarts, so test them on a copy, not your main world.
Can I use V Rising admin commands over RCON?
Only a few. V Rising's RCON is deliberately limited. With Rcon enabled in ServerHostSettings.json (it needs a password), you get:
| RCON command | What it does |
|---|---|
announce <message> |
Message to everyone online |
announcerestart <minutes> |
Translated restart warning for every player |
shutdown <times> <message> |
Schedules a shutdown with warnings |
cancelshutdown |
Cancels it |
name, description, password |
Change those while running |
version, time |
Server version and time |
Kicks, bans, teleports and items are not available over RCON. Those need an admin in game.
Are there chat commands like .kit or .home?
Not in the base game. Chat commands with a . prefix, such as homes, kits or clan tools, come from BepInEx mods built on VampireCommandFramework, for example KindredCommands. They need the server to run BepInEx, and the mod's own permissions decide who can use them.
FAQ
Why does adminauth not work in V Rising?
Your SteamID64 is missing or wrong in adminlist.txt, the server has not reread the file yet, or you typed it in chat instead of the console. Check the 17 digit ID, wait a few minutes or restart, and use the ~ console.
Do I need to type adminauth every time?
Yes. Admin status lasts for the session, so run adminauth again after you reconnect or the server restarts.
How do I unban someone in V Rising?
Type banned to see the list with index numbers, then unban followed by the number. You can also delete their SteamID from banlist.txt.
How do I spawn items in V Rising multiplayer?
Authenticate with adminauth, then use give with the item name and an amount. If nothing happens, check DisableDebugEvents in ServerHostSettings.json.
Can V Rising admins fly or go invisible?
There is no fly command in the base game, but toggleobserve gives an invisible or ghost style observer mode and toggleinvulnerable gives god mode.
Admin on a hosted server
On a GamezServers V Rising server, adminlist.txt and banlist.txt are in the save data's Settings folder in the file manager, so adding an admin takes a minute. RCON is a toggle in the panel, and the V Rising server settings guide covers the gameplay file in the same folder. If you are still setting up, start with how to host a V Rising server.
Skip the setup. Your own V Rising server.
