To become admin on a HumanitZ dedicated server, set AdminPass in GameServerSettings.ini (the Admin Password field on a hosted panel), restart, then press Enter in game and type /AdminAccess yourpassword in chat. After that, admin commands are chat commands that start with / and are not case sensitive: /adminw opens the admin window, /SaveGame saves the world, /Shutdown 60 closes the server with a warning, and /god, /SuperAdmin and the /spawn commands help with events and fixing problems. Kicking and banning are not chat commands; bans live in a file.
Step 1: Set the admin password
In TSSGame/GameServerSettings.ini, under [Host Settings]:
AdminPass=a-long-unique-password
Restart the server so it reads the change. Keep this different from the server join password: anyone who knows it has full admin powers, including spawning items and shutting the server down.
Step 2: Log in
- Join your server.
- Press Enter to open chat.
- Type:
/AdminAccess a-long-unique-password
You get admin rights for that session. Log in again after reconnecting.

Server management commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/adminw |
Opens the admin window for spawning items and adjusting settings |
/SaveGame |
Saves the world right now |
/Shutdown <seconds> |
Shuts the server down after a countdown, warning players |
/admintag |
Shows or hides your admin tag in chat |
/FPS |
Shows the frame rate display |
/SaveGame before a restart or an update is a good habit. The server saves on its own interval (SaveIntervalSec, 300 seconds by default), but a manual save means nobody loses the last few minutes. Use /Shutdown 300 to give players five minutes to get somewhere safe before a planned restart.
Admin player commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/god |
Toggles invulnerability for you |
/SuperAdmin |
Invisible flight mode, for watching players or getting around the map |
/unstuck |
Frees you when you are caught in geometry |
/exp <amount> |
Grants experience points |
/SuperAdmin is the tool for investigating griefing reports: fly over, look, and land without anyone seeing you.
Spawning
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/spawn item_<Name> |
Spawns an item pickup |
/spawn car_<Name> |
Spawns a vehicle |
/spawn ai_<type> |
Spawns an AI creature |
/fspawn ... |
Forces a spawn, ignoring collision checks |
Item, car and AI names follow the game's internal names, which you can browse in the /adminw window. Spawning is useful for replacing gear a player lost to a bug, or setting up a horde event, but it changes the balance of the world quickly, so many servers keep a rule about when admins spawn things.
World and companion commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/weather list |
Lists weather types you can set |
/season list |
Lists seasons you can switch to |
/DogSetName <Name> |
Renames your dog companion |
/TPDog |
Brings your dog to you |
/NoDog |
Removes your dog companion |
/ExecCmd <command> |
Runs an engine console command |
/TPDog saves a lot of grief when a companion gets stuck across the map. /ExecCmd is powerful; only use it if you know the command you are running.
Kicking and banning
HumanitZ has no chat commands for kicking or banning. The options:
- Ban list file. Bans are kept in
F_BannedPlayers.txt, one Steam64 ID per line. The file is read when the server starts, and changes made while the server runs can be overwritten when it stops. Stop the server, add the ID, start it again. - Only allowed players. Turn on
OnlyAllowedPlayers=1inGameServerSettings.iniso only players on the allowed list can join. On a private server for friends this is simpler than chasing bans. - RCON. Recent builds of the server support kicks and bans through RCON, if your setup has it configured.
Admin etiquette that keeps a server healthy
- Announce restarts with
/Shutdownand a generous countdown. - Save with
/SaveGamebefore a game update or any risky change. - Log what you spawned and why, in your Discord, so players trust the economy.
- Use
/SuperAdminto check reports before acting.

On a hosted server
On a GamezServers HumanitZ server, the Admin Password field in the control panel is written into GameServerSettings.ini as AdminPass on every start, so set it there and log in with /AdminAccess. The panel also has Only Allowed Players, PvP, permadeath, zombie difficulty, loot and season settings, and the server folder with the ban file is in the file manager. Take a one click backup before you start spawning things for an event. For the full server setup, see how to host a HumanitZ server, and if players cannot connect, the HumanitZ connection fixes.
