How to Whitelist a FiveM Server with txAdmin (2026)
Whitelist a FiveM server in txAdmin: approved license, Discord member, Discord roles or admin only mode, and how to approve player requests.

To whitelist a FiveM server, open txAdmin, go to Settings, open the Whitelist tab and change Allowlist Mode from Disabled to one of: Approved License (you approve each player), Discord Server Member (anyone in your Discord), Discord Server Roles (only people with a role you pick) or Admin-only (staff only, for maintenance). Save, and the next player who connects is checked. No script or restart needed.
txAdmin 8.1 renamed "whitelist" to "allowlist" in most of the panel, so you will see both words. They mean the same thing.
Which whitelist mode should you use?
| Mode | Who can join | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Disabled | Everyone | Public servers |
| Admin-only (maintenance mode) | Only players whose Cfx.re or Discord identifier belongs to a txAdmin admin | Building the server, updates, events |
| Discord Server Member | Anyone with Discord linked to FiveM who is in your Discord server | Community servers that want an easy gate |
| Discord Server Roles | Discord members with at least one of the roles you list | Roleplay servers with an application process |
| Approved License | Players an admin has approved in txAdmin | Small private servers, servers without Discord |
| External Allowlist Resource | Decided by a resource you install | Custom website or application systems |
Our pick for most roleplay communities: Discord Server Roles. Applications happen in Discord, staff give a "Whitelisted" role, and the player can join straight away. Removing the role removes access. Nobody has to touch txAdmin.
For a group of friends, Approved License is simpler: each friend tries to join once, you click approve.
How to turn on the whitelist
- Open txAdmin. On GamezServers, click Open on the txAdmin card in your panel.
- Go to Settings and open the Whitelist tab.
- Pick the Allowlist Mode.
- Fill in Allowlist Instructions: what players should do to get in, for example "Apply in #applications on discord.gg/yourcity". This shows on your server's page in the FiveM list and when a player is refused.
- For Discord Server Roles, paste the role IDs into Allowlisted Discord Roles, separated by commas.
- Save.
It applies to the next connection. Players already on the server are not kicked.
Setting up the Discord modes
Both Discord modes need txAdmin's Discord bot, because txAdmin has to ask Discord who is in your server.
- Create an application and bot in the Discord Developer Portal.
- On the bot's page, turn on Server Members Intent. Without it the bot cannot see members and every player is refused.
- Invite the bot to your Discord server.
- In txAdmin, Settings > Discord: enable the bot, paste the bot token and your Discord server's ID (Guild ID), and save.
- Back in the Whitelist tab, choose Discord Server Member or Discord Server Roles.
To copy IDs in Discord, turn on Developer Mode in Discord's Advanced settings, then right click the server icon or a role and choose Copy ID.
Players need the Discord desktop app running when they start FiveM, so FiveM can attach their discord: identifier. "You need Discord open" is the most common reason a member is refused.
Approved License: how to approve players
In Approved License mode, a player who is not yet approved gets refused with a short request code that starts with R, for example R1A2B, plus your instructions.
You approve them in one of three ways:
- txAdmin web: open the Allowlist page. Pending requests are listed with the player's name and code. Click approve, or deny. There is also a deny all button for clearing spam.
- Discord: with the bot set up, run
/whitelist requestwith the code (for exampleR1A2B). The newer/allowlist requestcommand does the same. - Pre-approval: on the Allowlist page you can add an identifier before the player ever joins, such as their
license:ordiscord:ID. In Discord,/whitelist memberwith the user pre-approves that Discord member.
Once approved, the player just connects again. Approval is tied to their Rockstar license: identifier, so it follows them even if they change their name.
To remove someone, take them off the approved list on the Allowlist page.
Staff who approve players need the players.whitelist permission in Admins.
Admin-only for maintenance
Switch to Admin-only before a big update, test with your staff, then switch back. Only players whose Cfx.re or Discord identifier is on a txAdmin admin account get in. Make sure your own account has your Cfx.re identifier attached, or you lock yourself out of your own server.
What about framework whitelists?
ESX ships a whitelist table and many older tutorials use a whitelist script or server.cfg ACE rules. You do not need any of that with txAdmin. Pick one system. Running a framework whitelist and the txAdmin allowlist together just means players get refused for two different reasons.
If you want job whitelists (only approved players can be police or EMS), that is a separate thing handled by your framework's jobs and your staff, not the server allowlist.
Whitelisting on GamezServers
On a GamezServers FiveM server with the txAdmin type, everything above works as described: open txAdmin from the panel and pick the mode. The panel's Players tab shows how many people are on, and txAdmin shows who. If you are building a whole roleplay community, our FiveM roleplay server guide covers applications and staff, and how to use txAdmin explains the rest of the panel.
FAQ
Can I whitelist a FiveM server without txAdmin?
Yes, with a whitelist resource or by checking identifiers in a connection script, but it is more work and easier to get wrong. txAdmin's allowlist is built in, free and handles requests for you.
Why does it say I am not whitelisted when I have the role?
Usually Discord was closed when FiveM started, so no discord: identifier was sent. Close FiveM, open Discord, then start FiveM again. If it still fails, check the bot has Server Members Intent turned on and the role ID in txAdmin is correct.
Does the whitelist hide my server from the FiveM list?
No. A whitelisted server still shows in the list with your instructions, so people can find you and apply. To hide it from the list, see FiveM server not showing in the server list.
Can I whitelist a server for a single event?
Yes. Switch to Admin-only while you set up, then to Discord Server Roles with an event role, and back to your usual mode afterwards. Changes apply to the next connection, so there is no restart in between.
