txAdmin is the web panel built into FiveM that runs your server for you. You use Live Console to type server commands, Resources to start and stop scripts, CFG Editor to change server.cfg, Players and the player list to kick, warn and ban, Settings > FXServer to schedule daily restarts, and Admins to give your staff access. In game, admins open the same tools with /tx. This guide walks through each page and the jobs you will do most.
The page names here match txAdmin 8.1, the current version in 2026. Older guides call the Allowlist page "Whitelist" and the Admins page "Admin Manager". They are the same pages.
How do I open txAdmin?
txAdmin is a website served by your FiveM server.
- Self hosted: it prints its address when FXServer starts, by default port 40120, for example
http://localhost:40120. - On GamezServers: txAdmin runs one port above your game port. The txAdmin card on your panel's Overview tab has an Open button, and shows the 4 digit setup PIN the first time.
The first visit asks for the PIN, then you sign in with your Cfx.re account and set a backup password. That first account is the master account, the owner with every permission. Our FiveM hosting guide covers the setup and recipe step by step.
The left menu: your server
| Page | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Server status, player count, CPU and RAM use, and a chart of server thread performance |
| Live Console | The FXServer console: read everything it prints and type commands |
| Resources | Every resource with buttons to start, stop and restart |
| Server Log | Joins, leaves, deaths, chat, explosions and admin actions, searchable |
| CFG Editor | Edit server.cfg in the browser |
The top bar has Players, History, Player Drops, Allowlist, Admins, Settings and a System menu with Master Actions, Diagnostics, Console Log and Action Log. On the right is the live list of players on the server.
Live Console: running commands
Everything you would type into an FXServer terminal goes here. The ones you will use most:
ensure myresource start a resource, or restart it if it is running
restart myresource restart a running resource
stop myresource stop a resource
refresh rescan the resources folder after uploading something new
profiler record 500 record a performance profile (see the lag guide)
Kicks, warns and bans are easier from the player list than from the console, because txAdmin records who did it and why. The console keeps a command history and can search the log.
On a GamezServers server with the txAdmin type, this is where commands go. txAdmin owns the game process, so the console in our panel still shows everything the server prints, but commands typed there do not reach the game. On the Plain FXServer type, our panel console and its one click buttons talk to the server directly.
Resources: starting and stopping scripts
The Resources page lists every resource the server knows about, grouped by folder, with start, stop and restart buttons. Use it to:
- Restart one broken script without restarting the server.
- Check that a new resource is actually running after you added it.
- Find resources that are stopped because their
ensureline is missing.
Starting a resource here lasts until the next restart. To make it permanent, add ensure resourcename to server.cfg in the CFG Editor.
CFG Editor: changing server.cfg
The CFG Editor opens the server.cfg txAdmin starts the server with. The lines you will touch most:
sv_hostname "My City RP"
sets sv_projectName "My City RP"
sets sv_projectDesc "Serious roleplay, whitelisted, active police and EMS"
sets tags "roleplay, qbox, serious"
sets locale "en-US"
sv_maxclients 48
sv_licenseKey cfxk_your_key_here
ensure myresource
Save, then restart the server for most settings to apply. ensure lines for new resources can also be started right away with ensure in Live Console.
On GamezServers, the endpoint and port lines in the recipe's server.cfg can stay as they are. The server always binds its own assigned port. If you change your Cfx.re license key after deploying a recipe, change sv_licenseKey here too, not only in our Settings.
Server Log: who did what
The Server Log records joins and leaves, deaths and who killed whom, chat, explosions, and menu and admin actions. When a player reports "someone killed me at the bank", this is where you check, filtered by player or time. It is also the first place to look when a staff member's actions are questioned.
Players, History and bans
- The player list (right side): click a name to open their window with DM, Warn, Kick and Ban, their identifiers, notes, playtime and past actions.
- Players page: search everyone who has ever joined, not only who is online now.
- History: every warn and ban, with who issued it. Revoke a ban from here.
- Ban templates: saved reasons and lengths, so staff ban consistently.
Bans in txAdmin match several identifiers at once (license, Discord, Steam and others), so a banned player cannot just change their name. txAdmin keeps this data in its own database, separate from your framework's MySQL database.
Scheduled restarts
Most roleplay servers restart every 6 to 12 hours. It clears memory leaks from scripts, saves data cleanly and picks up resource updates.
- Go to Settings > FXServer.
- In Restart Schedule, add the times, for example
06:00and18:00. - Save.
The times are in the server's clock, not yours, and txAdmin warns you if your browser's timezone is different. Players get chat warnings 30, 15, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 minute before each restart.
For a one off restart, use Schedule Restart in the left sidebar under the server controls. Type +15 for 15 minutes from now, or a time like 23:30. You can also skip the next scheduled restart there.
Admins: giving your staff access
- Ask each staff member for their Cfx.re username, and their Discord user ID if they should be recognised through Discord in game.
- Open Admins and add a new admin.
- Tick only the permissions they need.
Some permissions worth knowing:
| Permission | Lets them |
|---|---|
players.kick, players.warn, players.ban |
Moderate players |
players.whitelist |
Approve allowlist requests |
console.write |
Type commands in Live Console. Only give this to people you trust fully. |
control.server |
Start, stop and restart the server |
commands.resources |
Start and stop resources |
server.cfg.editor |
Read and edit server.cfg, which contains your license key |
manage.admins |
Add and remove other admins |
all_permissions |
Everything |
Give moderators the player permissions and the in game menu, not console or CFG access.
The in game menu (/tx)
Admins can open txAdmin's menu in game with /tx or /txadmin, or bind it under Settings > Key Bindings > FiveM. From there: noclip, god mode, teleport, spawn and fix vehicles, heal, announcements, a player list with spectate, freeze, warn, kick and ban.
The menu only works if the admin's txAdmin account has their Cfx.re or Discord identifier attached, and they are logged into FiveM with that same account. If the menu says you are not an admin even though you are, type /txAdmin-reauth in chat.
Allowlist (whitelist)
The Allowlist page and the allowlist settings (the Whitelist tab in Settings) control who may join: everyone, admins only, Discord members, Discord roles, or players you approve one by one. Our FiveM whitelist guide covers each mode and how to approve requests.
Common tasks, quickly

txAdmin on GamezServers
Choose the txAdmin server type at checkout and it is ready about a minute after payment, already pinned to your plan's ports with your license key and a MySQL database filled in for recipes. Our panel adds the things txAdmin does not do: one click Backup (3 per server), Update game for new FXServer builds, a Files tab and SFTP for uploads, and the player count on the Players tab. The panel's Restart button restarts txAdmin itself, which then starts the game again if autostart is on. See FiveM hosting for plans.
FAQ
What port does txAdmin use?
40120 by default on a self hosted server. On GamezServers it is one port above your game port, and the panel's txAdmin card links straight to it.
I lost the txAdmin PIN. How do I get a new one?
The PIN is only shown until the master account exists. Restart the server and a new PIN prints in the console. If the master account already exists, sign in with Cfx.re or your backup password instead.
Is txAdmin free?
Yes. txAdmin is open source and ships with every FXServer build. You do not install it separately.
Do I need txAdmin to run a FiveM server?
No. You can run FXServer with +exec server.cfg and manage it from the console. You lose recipes, scheduled restarts, bans and the in game admin menu, which is why most servers keep it.
Does txAdmin need MySQL?
No. txAdmin stores players, bans and admins in its own database file. MySQL is only needed by frameworks like QBCore, Qbox and ESX.
