To start a new world on a Schedule 1 dedicated server, stop the server, rename or move the UserData/DedicatedServerSave folder, and start the server again. It finds no save and creates a fresh world with its own correct Players/Player_0 host entry, so everyone starts from day one in Hyland Point. Keep the old folder and you can switch back to it later with the server stopped. Do not just delete files inside the save, because a half emptied save is the most common way to end up with load errors.
Why the server needs a clean save
Schedule I has no official dedicated server. Servers run the community S1DedicatedServers (S1DS) mod, which runs the whole game headless with a hidden "loopback" host player. That host must sit in Players/Player_0 of the save, set up the way the server expects.
When the server starts with no save at all, it builds a new one with Player_0 correct from the start. That is why a fresh world is best made by giving the server an empty spot, rather than by clearing files by hand or copying in a brand new single player save.
What a new world resets
Everything in the save folder starts over:
- Money, debt and business progress.
- Properties, grow rooms, equipment and storage.
- Employees, suppliers, customers and relationships.
- Product recipes and mixes discovered.
- Rank, unlocks and police heat.
- Every player's inventory and progress on that server.
Your single player and co-op saves on your own PC are not touched. They live in a different place.
Step 1: Save, then back up
Run a final save so the old world is complete on disk:
save
Type it in the server console, or use the Save world button in the GamezServers panel. Then take a backup of the whole UserData/DedicatedServerSave folder. On a hosted server, press Backup.
Step 2: Stop the server
Stop it fully before touching the save. The server autosaves on a timer, when players join and when they leave, so it can write into the folder at any moment while it runs.

Step 3: Move the old save out of the way
Rename the folder, for example:
UserData/DedicatedServerSave -> UserData/DedicatedServerSave-season1
Renaming keeps it on the server for later and leaves no DedicatedServerSave folder for the server to load. If disk space is tight, download it to your PC first and then delete it from the server.
On a self hosted server, also open server_config.toml and check saveGamePath under [storage]. If it points at a folder, the server loads that folder instead of DedicatedServerSave. Leave it empty for the default, or point it at a new empty folder.
[storage]
saveGamePath = ''
Step 4: Start the server
Start it and watch the console. The first start with no save takes a little longer while the server builds the new world. When it is ready, join as normal. Everyone arrives at the start of the game.
How the story begins in a fresh save is set by freshSaveQuestBootstrapMode under [gameplay] in server_config.toml. StartFromBeginning plays the normal intro from "Welcome to Hyland Point", while StartPostIntro skips to "Getting Started" with the RV already repaired. It only matters for a brand new save, so set it before Step 4. The server settings guide covers the other gameplay keys.
Before you hand it back to the group, run save once so the new world exists on disk, and set yourself up as operator again if needed. Operator and permission settings live in the server's own config files rather than the save, but check with the commands guide that your staff still have their roles.
Switching between worlds
You can keep a few worlds and swap them:
- Save and stop the server.
- Rename the current
DedicatedServerSaveto something likeDedicatedServerSave-season2. - Rename the world you want back to
DedicatedServerSave. - Start the server.
Only one world runs at a time. Keep clear names with dates, and never merge folders from two worlds.
Starting from your own single player world instead
If the "new" world should be one you already started on your PC, do not drop that save in as is. The server's Player_0 must stay the server's. Follow transferring a Schedule 1 save to a dedicated server, which copies your world in while keeping the server's host entry.
Fresh start after a big update
Some groups restart when Schedule I gets a large update. Do it in this order:
- Back up and archive the old world (Steps 1 to 3).
- Update the game and the server mod first, so the new world is created by the new version. The update guide covers the steps.
- Start the server with no save and let it build the world.
- Make sure every player has updated the client pack before joining.
Common problems
- The old world loaded anyway. The server still found a save: either
DedicatedServerSavewas not renamed, orsaveGamePathpoints at the old folder. - Load errors on the new world. You emptied the folder by hand and left some files, or copied in a save with its own
Player_0. Remove the folder completely and let the server create it. - Players cannot join after the reset. Not a save problem. Check versions and the client pack in can't connect to a Schedule 1 dedicated server.
Resetting on GamezServers
On a GamezServers Schedule I server, the whole reset happens in your browser: Save world, Backup, Stop, rename DedicatedServerSave in the Files tab, then Start. MelonLoader and S1DS are installed and updated for you, and players join with one free pack. If your crew is ready for a fresh run, see the Schedule I game page.

FAQ
How do I reset my Schedule 1 dedicated server?
Save, stop the server, rename the UserData/DedicatedServerSave folder, and start it again. The server builds a fresh world on start.
Will resetting the server delete my single player saves?
No. Single player and co-op saves are on your PC in AppData\LocalLow\TVGS\Schedule I\Saves, separate from the server.
Can I go back to the old world later?
Yes, if you renamed the folder instead of deleting it. Stop the server and swap the folder names back.
Do players keep their money after a reset?
No. Money, properties and progress on the server are all stored in the server's save and start over with the new world.
