To use admin commands on a CryoFall server, put your player name in server_operators_list in Data/SettingsServer.xml, restart, then open the in game console with the tilde key (~) and type commands starting with a slash. The everyday ones are /kick name minutes, /ban name, /mute name minutes, /mod.whiteList.add name, /admin.notifyAll "message" and /admin.setRaidingWindow for PvP raid hours. Press Tab in the console to autocomplete command and item names.
CryoFall has two staff levels. Operators can do everything. Moderators get the moderation set: kicks, bans, mutes, the whitelist, teleport and spectator mode, without item spawning or world editing.

Become an operator
- Join the server once with the name you will play under, so it exists in the world.
- Stop the server.
- In
Data/SettingsServer.xml, add your name toserver_operators_list. Separate several names with commas. - Start the server and open the console in game with
~.
Type /help to list every command available to you, or /help kick to search. If /help shows only a handful of player commands, the name in the file does not match your character exactly.
Once you are in, you can manage staff from the console instead of the file:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/opAdd name |
Make someone an operator |
/opRemove name |
Remove operator rights |
/opList |
List operators |
/moderatorAdd name |
Make someone a moderator |
/moderatorRemove name |
Remove moderator rights |
/moderatorList |
List moderators |
Give most helpers moderator, not operator. Operators can spawn items and delete structures, which is a lot of trust.
Moderation: kick, ban, mute
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/kick name [minutes] ["message"] |
Kicks and blocks rejoining for the given minutes |
/mod.kickList.remove name |
Lifts a kick early |
/mod.kickList.print |
Shows active kicks |
/ban name |
Permanent ban (adds to the blacklist) |
/mod.blackList.remove name |
Unbans |
/mod.blackList.print |
Shows the blacklist |
/mute name [minutes] |
Mutes chat for the given minutes |
/mod.muteList.remove name |
Unmutes |
There are faction versions too: /kickFaction CLAN 60 "reason" and /banFaction CLAN deal with every member of a clan tag at once. That is for the faction that griefs together, use it sparingly.
A kick in CryoFall is really a timed ban: /kick Griefer 1440 "24 hours for wall spam" keeps them out for a day. Put the reason in quotes so the player knows why.
Private servers: the whitelist
CryoFall's whitelist is off until you enable it. To lock the server to your group:
/mod.whiteList.add Alice
/mod.whiteList.add Bob
/mod.whiteList.add YourOwnName
/mod.whiteList.enabled 1
Add yourself before enabling it. /mod.whiteList.print shows the list and /mod.whiteList.remove name takes someone off. Pair the whitelist with is_public_server set to 0 in SettingsServer.xml so the server does not show in the Community list at all.
PvP raid windows
On PvP servers, /admin.setRaidingWindow restricts the hours when bases can be raided, so nobody loses everything at 4 in the morning:
/admin.setRaidingWindow 4 14 1.5
The three numbers are the UTC offset of the time zone you are thinking in, the hour the window starts, and the duration in hours. The example opens raiding at 14:00 in UTC+4 for an hour and a half. Pick a window when most of your players are online, and announce it. Damage, raid block and S.H.I.E.L.D. timings are rates rather than commands, explained in CryoFall ServerRates.config explained.
Talking to players
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/admin.notifyAll "Restart in 10 minutes" |
Notification for everyone online |
/admin.notifyPlayer name "message" |
Notification for one player |
Use notifyAll before restarts. The server stop command (stop 60 message in the server console) also gives a countdown with a message.
Looking into a problem
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/spectator 1 |
Spectator mode, invisible observation |
/tp name |
Teleport to a player |
/tp x y |
Teleport to coordinates |
/pos name |
Show a player's coordinates |
/admin.listLandClaims name |
A player's land claims |
/admin.listLandClaimsOwners |
All claims with their owners |
/faction.browse name |
Faction details for a player |
/party.browse name |
A player's party |
Spectator and teleport work for moderators too, which is how most reports get checked: spectate, look, decide.
Operator tools for events and fixes
These are for operators and change the game state, so use them openly:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/addItem item [count] [player] |
Give items |
/admin.giveawayItem item [count] |
Give an item to every player |
/admin.giveawayLP points |
Give learning points to everyone |
/player.addLP points [player] |
Learning points for one player |
/heal [player] |
Restore health and vitals |
/admin.startEvent eventName |
Start a world event |
/admin.finishEvents |
End active events |
/world.destroy |
Destroy the nearest object |
/world.setTimeOfDay hour |
Force the time of day, no value resets it |
/creative 1 |
Creative building mode |
/admin.giveawayItem and /admin.giveawayLP are a fair way to compensate everyone after a crash or rollback. /world.destroy removes the nearest object, so stand right next to the abandoned wall you want gone. Tab completion fills in item and event names, which saves guessing internal names.

Staff habits that keep a server healthy
- Write your rules in the welcome message (set from the Current Game menu in game) so players see them when they join.
- Use timed kicks before permanent bans, and always add a reason.
- Keep operators to the people who pay for or own the server.
- Take a backup before running
/world.destroyor event commands on a live world.
Running it with us
On a CryoFall server from GamezServers, SettingsServer.xml is in the file manager, so setting your operator name is one edit and a restart from the control panel. The live console shows joins, kicks and errors, and one click backups give you a safe point before you use the heavier tools. If you are new to hosting it, start with how to host a CryoFall server.
