What comes set up on a Solace Crafting server
Borderless shared world
Danger rises with distance from the start, so a group can split up: scouts push the frontier while builders keep home stocked.
Towns and fast travel
Player-built portals and towns stay on the server, ready for whoever logs in next.
Private with a password
Set the server private with a password in its config file so only your group can join.
Backups before patches
Solace Crafting still gets big updates. Take a one click backup first so a bad patch never costs you the world.

Common problems
Stop the server before editing servercfg.dat. It is read on start, and edits made while it runs get overwritten or ignored.
Players must run the same game version as the server. Keep Auto Update on in the panel so it follows patches.
Server missing from the browser? Make sure the name in the config is set and try again after a minute. Lists refresh slowly after a restart.
The password only applies when the server is marked private in the config. Set both, then restart.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Solace Crafting server hosting, explained
Solace Crafting is a fantasy survival RPG from Big Kitty Games set in a borderless open world where the danger grows the further you travel from the start. You gather, craft, build modular bases, and push outward as your gear improves. Players build their own fast travel network and can manage towns, which gives a co-op group natural roles: someone pushes the frontier while someone else keeps the home base stocked.
Because the world has no edge and difficulty scales with distance, a group's progress ends up spread across a big map. A dedicated server keeps all of it available between sessions. Nobody has to host on their own machine or wait for the usual host to log in. The developer itself recommends dedicated servers over player hosting for multiplayer. It also means the town you built is still there when a friend logs in alone.
Server options live in servercfg.dat, a JSON style config you edit through the file manager or SFTP. It covers the server name and description, max players, private mode with a password, and Steam authentication. Our panel keeps the server current with auto update, and the live console shows who joins and what the server is doing. If something goes wrong after an edit, the log tells you which line it did not like.
Memory use climbs as players explore further apart and the server keeps more of the world active. A group of up to four runs on 4 GB. Six to eight people heading in different directions sit well on 6 GB. If you fill the default 12 player limit with people scattered across the map, 8 GB is the safe pick.

Common questions
How many players can join a Solace Crafting server?
The dedicated server defaults to 12 players. You can change maxPlayers in servercfg.dat, but more players spread out means more memory.
How do players join?
Open the game's multiplayer server list, select your server and click Join Server at the lower left. Everyone needs the same game version as the server.
Where are the server settings?
In servercfg.dat in the server's files. Stop the server, edit it in the file manager, then start it again.
How do I make the server private?
Set isPrivate to true and add a password in servercfg.dat. Players then need that password to join.
Is multiplayer feature complete?
Mostly. The developer has said multiplayer supports nearly all single player content, with a few features still being brought over.
How do I keep the server updated?
Leave Auto Update on in our panel. The server picks up new builds on restart so it stays in step with players' games.
Can I back up my world before a big update?
Yes. Take a one click backup in the panel first. If the update causes trouble, restore it and you are back where you were.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Solace Crafting?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Solace Crafting server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
