How to join your Nova-Life: Amboise server

  1. 1

Install Nova-Life: Amboise for free on Steam and launch it.

  2. 2

Open the server list from the main menu.

  3. 3

Search for the server list name you set in the panel.

  4. 4

Select the server and join. On a whitelisted server, fill in the application form and wait for staff.

Common problems

New servers start unlisted. Set isPublicServer to true in Servers/<your server name>/Config/server.json to appear in the server list.

The Server Name setting is also the folder name of your server. Changing it later points to a new, empty server, so pick it once.

Plugins built on ModKit need ModKit itself in the Plugins folder too. Missing dependencies are the most common reason a plugin won't load.

Switch between the Amboise and Saint-Branchs maps with mapId (0 or 1) in server.json.

Server not responding

Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.

Use the server address

Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.

No port forwarding or firewall changes

Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.

Modding your Nova-Life: Amboise server

Nova-Life servers load C# plugins as .dll files from the server's Plugins folder. Most come from the French community on GitHub and Discord, often built on ModKit.

Nova-Life: Amboise server hosting, explained

Nova-Life: Amboise is a free to play city roleplay game from TeamNova, still in Early Access. You create a character and start a second life in a French town: get a job, climb the ranks for a better salary, buy cars and property, and play out stories with other players. It is billed as the first French roleplay game, and most communities are French speaking, with whitelists, staff teams and their own rules.

Roleplay servers live or die on being online and on owning the details. A dedicated server keeps your city's economy, characters and property running around the clock, so citizens can log in after work and pick up their story. Because the game is free, new players can join your city as soon as they hear about it, which helps a young community grow.

The panel sets the server name, the name shown in the server list, player slots up to 50 and auto update. The rest is in the server's config files in the file manager: starting money and bank balance, the car dealership's stock and prices, shop checkpoints, rental limits, whitelist and its form questions, autosave interval, framerate and which map runs. Plugins go into the Plugins folder.

Memory follows player count and how much the world holds. A small group or a whitelist city just starting fits 4 GB. Once you have 25 or more regulars with shops and owned property, 6 GB is the comfortable pick. A busy public city near the 50 slot cap with a stack of plugins should use 8 GB. You can change plans any time as the city grows.

Included on every plan

  • Always on DDoS protection
  • 24/7 support from real people
  • Low ping game hardware
  • Live the moment you pay
  • Your own address and port
  • Live console with full access
  • One click game actions
  • One click backups
  • Upgrade or cancel any time

Common questions

How many players can a Nova-Life server hold?

Our panel allows 1 to 50 players, with 25 as the default. Set it with Max Players.

Is Nova-Life: Amboise free?

Yes. The game is free to play on Steam, which makes it easy for new players to join your city.

Why doesn't my server show in the list?

New servers are created as private. Set isPublicServer to true in server.json and restart.

Can I make my server whitelist only?

Yes. Turn on the whitelist in server.json and write your form questions. New players answer them in game, and staff approve them.

How do I install plugins?

Upload the plugin .dll into the server's Plugins folder with the file manager or SFTP, add any dependency like ModKit, then restart.

Can I change the starting money and car prices?

Yes. The roleplay and car dealership sections of the config set starting cash, bank balance, vehicle stock and prices.

Which maps are there?

Amboise and Saint-Branchs. Pick one with mapId in server.json, 0 for Amboise and 1 for Saint-Branchs.

How do I change the name in the server list?

Set Server List Name in the panel. That is the name players see when they browse servers.

Is GamezServers affiliated with Nova-Life: Amboise?

No. You rent and control your own dedicated Nova-Life: Amboise server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.

Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
