Common problems
Server not in the list? Add it to your Steam favorites under View, Game Servers, Favorites using the IP and query port, then launch Citadel and join from there.
Players get a version mismatch after a patch until the server updates. Keep Auto Update on and restart the server.
Edit Game.ini with the server stopped. Changes made while it runs can be overwritten when it shuts down.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Citadel: Forged with Fire server hosting, explained
Citadel: Forged with Fire is a sandbox RPG from Blue Isle Studios set in the magic world of Ignus. You start as an apprentice, learn spells, tame creatures and dragons, fly on brooms and build castles, then decide whether to ally with other players or go after their keeps. It came out in 2019, and while its community is smaller now, the mix of building, spell combat and flying still has no direct replacement.
Public servers come with someone else's rules and other clans' castles on the best spots. Your own server gives your group a world where your builds stay put and the rules suit you. Clans use them for PvP sieges with flying mounts and siege spells, and smaller groups run relaxed PvE worlds with boosted rates so they can reach the late game magic without months of grinding.
The panel holds the admin password and automatic updates so the server matches the current Steam version. World settings such as server name, password, PvE or PvP, player limit and multipliers for experience and gathering live in Game.ini, which you edit in the file manager or over SFTP. The live console shows who is connecting, and one click backups keep a copy of the world before big changes.
Citadel is an Unreal Engine sandbox with a large map, and it uses more memory as players build. 6 GB suits a small group or clan, 8 GB a community of 20 or more with heavy building, and 12 GB a busy public world with many castles. Memory climbs as castles go up, so watch it in the panel and move up a plan when the world grows. You can change plans at any time without losing the world.

Common questions
How do I get admin on my Citadel server?
Use the Admin Password from the panel in game to unlock admin commands. Keep it private, since it gives full control.
Where do I change rates and PvP rules?
In Game.ini, in the server's config folder. Edit it through the file manager or SFTP with the server stopped, then start it again.
How many players can join?
You set the limit with PlayerLimit in Game.ini. Most private worlds sit well under 40, and memory is the real limit.
How do I set a server password?
Add a password to the world settings in Game.ini and restart. Players then enter it when they join.
Will the server stay on the latest version?
With Auto Update on, the server updates from Steam on restart. Restart after a game patch so players are not blocked by a version mismatch.
Is Citadel still played?
It has a small but steady community, mostly on private and clan servers. Running your own is the reliable way to keep a world going.
How much RAM does a Citadel server need?
6 GB for a small group, 8 GB for a larger community with lots of building, and 12 GB for a busy public world.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Citadel: Forged with Fire?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Citadel: Forged with Fire server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
