Mordhau admin commands are typed in the in game console, opened with the backtick key (`). Log in with adminlogin <password> using the AdminPassword from Game.ini, or skip that step by listing your PlayFab ID as an Admins= line. Then playerlist shows everyone's PlayFab ID, and kick, ban, mute, unban and changelevel do the rest. Most player commands take the PlayFab ID, not the name, followed by a duration and a reason where it applies.
Getting admin rights
Two ways, and you can use both:
Admin password. In Game.ini under [/Script/Mordhau.MordhauGameSession]:
AdminPassword=a-long-unique-password
In game, open the console and type:
adminlogin a-long-unique-password
Permanent admin by PlayFab ID. Add a line per admin to the same section:
Admins=1A2B3C4D5E6F7A8B
Admins listed this way do not need to log in. To find a PlayFab ID, join the server and run playerlist. Restart after editing Game.ini, and edit it only while the server is stopped, because Mordhau writes its config back on shutdown and overwrites changes made while it runs.

Finding player IDs
playerlist
prints each player's name and PlayFab ID. Copy the ID from there for any command below. Names with clan tags or odd characters are why the ID is used instead.
Player commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
kick <PlayFabID> <reason> |
Removes a player; they can rejoin |
ban <PlayFabID> <minutes> <reason> |
Bans for a number of minutes; 0 is permanent |
unban <PlayFabID> |
Lifts a ban |
banlist |
Shows current bans |
mute <PlayFabID> <minutes> |
Mutes voice and chat for that long; 0 is permanent |
unmute <PlayFabID> |
Lifts a mute |
mutelist |
Shows current mutes |
Examples:
kick 1A2B3C4D5E6F7A8B team killing
ban 1A2B3C4D5E6F7A8B 1440 repeated team killing
mute 1A2B3C4D5E6F7A8B 60 spam
A reason shows to the player, which cuts down on angry messages in your Discord. Timed bans of a day or a week handle most problems on a public server; keep permanent bans for cheaters.
Admin management
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
addadmin <PlayFabID> |
Grants admin to a player |
removeadmin <PlayFabID> |
Removes admin |
adminlist |
Lists admins |
adminlogout |
Drops your own admin rights for the session |
Admins added in game are saved to Game.ini as Admins= lines.
Server and map commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
changelevel <map> |
Switches to a map now, for example changelevel FL_Grad |
changelevel takes the short map name, the same form used in MapRotation= lines, like FL_Camp, FL_Taiga or FFA_Contraband. Mod maps use the name their author gives. If the map name is wrong, nothing loads and the console reports it. After a manual change, the rotation continues from there on the next map vote or rotation step.

Where bans are stored
Bans and mutes are written to Game.ini as BannedPlayers= and MutedPlayers= entries. You can remove one by hand with the server stopped, which is handy when a ban was a mistake and the admin who placed it is offline.
A few rules for running Mordhau servers
- Duel servers live on etiquette. Write your rules in the server name or MOTD, and use short timed bans for people who break them.
- Frontline and Invasion see team damage complaints.
TeamDamageFactorinGame.inichanges how much friendly hits hurt; lower it before reaching for bans. - Give regulars a voice. Two or three trusted admins across time zones beat one owner who is always offline.
- Log actions. Note bans and reasons in a private channel so your admins stay consistent.
When commands do not work
- Unknown command or nothing happens. You are not logged in. Run
adminloginagain; it resets when you reconnect. - adminlogin is refused.
AdminPasswordinGame.iniis empty or different, or the server was running while you edited the file, so it was overwritten on shutdown. - The command hits the wrong player. You used a name. Use the PlayFab ID from
playerlist. - changelevel fails. The map name is wrong or it belongs to a mod that is not loaded. Mod maps only work when their mod is in a
Mods=line. - A ban does not stick after restart. It was placed, then the server was stopped while someone edited
Game.iniby hand. Edit the file only with the server stopped.
On a hosted server
On a GamezServers Mordhau server, the Admin Password field in the control panel is written into Game.ini on every start, and Game.ini itself is in the file manager for Admins=, MapRotation= and ban lines. The live console shows joins and admin actions as they happen. You can run the native Linux server or the Windows build and switch between them in the panel; note the config sits in LinuxServer or WindowsServer depending on which you use. For setup, see how to host a Mordhau server, and for mod maps you can changelevel to, how to install mods on a Mordhau server.
