The best free FiveM scripts in 2026 are the ones nearly every serious server already runs: oxmysql for the database, ox_lib as the shared library, ox_inventory and ox_target for items and interaction, pma-voice for proximity voice and radio, and bob74_ipl to fill in the map's interiors. On top of that, vMenu or EasyAdmin for freeroam servers, and illenium-appearance, npwd, Renewed-Banking and an emote menu for roleplay. Every one below is free, public on GitHub and still being updated or widely used as of 2026.
We only list resources from their official repositories. Grab them from the links here, not from reupload sites, which often bundle old versions or worse.

The foundation (install these first)
oxmysql
The database resource that nearly every framework and modern script talks to. QBCore, Qbox and ESX all depend on it, and the txAdmin recipes install it for you. It also warns in the console about slow queries (over 150 ms by default), which makes it your first clue when a script is lagging the server. Connection string:
set mysql_connection_string "mysql://user:password@host:3306/database?charset=utf8mb4"
The older mysql-async and ghmattimysql are no longer maintained. If a script needs them, look for an updated version or a different script.
ox_lib
A library other scripts build on: context menus, input dialogs, notifications, progress bars and circles, skill checks, zones, callbacks and caching. You rarely see "ox_lib" as a feature, but half of the scripts you install will list it as a dependency. Ensure it near the top of server.cfg, before anything that uses it.
ox_target
The "third eye": hold a key, look at a thing, get a menu of what you can do with it. Shops, ATMs, doors, garages and job actions all hang off it. It replaced qtarget and qb-target on most new servers and is partly compatible with scripts written for qtarget.
ox_inventory
Slot based inventory with weight, item metadata (serial numbers, durability, ammo), shops, stashes, trunks and gloveboxes, crafting and evidence lockers. It officially supports ox_core, ESX, Qbox and ND. It is the inventory in the Qbox recipe. QBCore uses its own qb-inventory and is not on ox_inventory's supported list, which is one reason servers move from QBCore to Qbox.
pma-voice
Proximity voice using FiveM's built in Mumble server, so there is no separate voice server to host. Ranges you can cycle, radio channels, phone calls and submixes for radio sound. It is in the QBCore and ESX recipes and it is the default choice for voice. If you use an external voice system instead, remove pma-voice so the two do not fight.
bob74_ipl
Loads GTA Online interiors (apartments, offices, nightclubs, bunkers, the newer DLC properties) that are not loaded by default, and fixes holes in the map. Lots of MLO maps and housing scripts expect it. Small, stable, actively updated for new GTA content.
Admin and freeroam
vMenu
The standard menu for non roleplay servers: vehicle spawner, weather and time, player options, teleports, saved vehicles, all controlled by permissions in server.cfg so you choose who can do what. There is a vMenu recipe in txAdmin. Do not combine it with a roleplay framework unless you lock it down to staff, or players will spawn cars and money for free.
EasyAdmin
An admin menu for kicking, banning, spectating, screenshots and player reports, with Discord webhooks. txAdmin already covers most of this with its /tx menu, so on a txAdmin server EasyAdmin is optional. It is handy if you run Plain FXServer without txAdmin.
Roleplay extras
illenium-appearance
Character creation, clothing stores, barbers, tattoo shops and saved outfits, for QBCore, Qbox and ESX. The Qbox recipe installs it by default. Updates on the repo have slowed, but it is still one of the most used free appearance scripts.
npwd
An open source phone written in React and TypeScript, designed to be framework agnostic, with apps for contacts, messages, calls, photos, Twitter style posts and more. It needs screenshot-basic from project-error for the camera. The Qbox recipe includes npwd with Qbox integration.
Renewed-Banking
Personal, job, gang and shared accounts with transfers and transaction history. Depends on oxmysql, ox_lib and ox_target. Its README lists QBCore and ESX support, and the Qbox recipe installs it too.
Renewed-Weathersync
Synced weather and time with custom weather sequences and adjustable day length. It is a drop in replacement for qb-weathersync and noticeably lighter.
rpemotes-reborn or scully_emotemenu
Emote menus with hundreds of animations, props, walk styles and shared emotes (hugs, handshakes). rpemotes-reborn is the community continuation of the classic dpemotes line. scully_emotemenu is a cleaner alternative and the one the Qbox recipe installs. Pick one.
ps-dispatch and ps-mdt
Dispatch alerts for police and EMS (shots fired, store robberies, officer down) and a police MDT for records and warrants, from Project Sloth. ps-dispatch works on QBCore and Qbox. ps-mdt is built for QBCore. Both need their web interface built, or a release download, before they run.
How to install a free script
- Download from the Releases page of the repo, not "Code > Download ZIP". Many of these (ox_inventory, ox_doorlock, ox_target and others) have a web interface that is only built in the release zip.
- Read the dependencies in the README and install those first.
- Upload the folder to
resourceswith the Files tab or SFTP. - Run any
.sqlfile the script ships against your database. On GamezServers, the database details are under Settings for a tool like HeidiSQL. - Add
ensure scriptnametoserver.cfgafter its dependencies. - Restart, and read the console for errors.
Press Backup in the panel before adding anything big. You keep 3 backups, so you can always go back.
Free scripts we would skip
- Anything from a "leak" site. Leaked paid scripts are the most common source of backdoors that let someone else run commands on your server. They also break the creator's license and the FiveM terms.
- Scripts that need
mysql-asyncores_extendedfrom 2019. They were written for frameworks that no longer exist in that form. - Five versions of the same system. One inventory, one target, one phone, one weather sync. Doubling up is the most common cause of bugs and lag. Our lag and hitch warning guide shows how to find a heavy resource.
Running these on GamezServers
The txAdmin recipes on a GamezServers FiveM server already include most of the foundation: the Qbox recipe ships oxmysql, ox_lib, ox_inventory, ox_target, ox_doorlock, ox_fuel, pma-voice, bob74_ipl, illenium-appearance, npwd, Renewed-Banking, Renewed-Weathersync and scully_emotemenu, and the QBCore and ESX recipes include oxmysql, pma-voice and bob74_ipl (ESX adds ox_lib). Not sure which framework to start from? Read QBCore vs Qbox vs ESX first.
FAQ
Are free FiveM scripts safe?
Ones from their official GitHub repos and well known authors are, and you can read every line. The risk comes from reuploads and leaked paid scripts, which can hide code that gives a stranger control of your server.
What is the best free inventory for FiveM?
ox_inventory, for ESX and Qbox servers. On QBCore, the bundled qb-inventory is the straightforward choice, since ox_inventory does not officially support QBCore.
Do I need ox_lib?
If you run Qbox, ox_inventory, ox_target, ox_doorlock or most modern scripts, yes, they depend on it. It is free and light, so most servers simply run it.
Where can I find more free FiveM scripts?
The Releases section of the Cfx.re forum is the main place authors post free resources, and each framework's GitHub organization lists its official ones. Check when a script was last updated before installing.
