ESX Legacy servers with the database ready
The framework your developer already knows.
ESX Legacy is one of the default recipes in txAdmin, and every FiveM server here comes with its own MySQL database. Pick the recipe, leave the database fields as they are, and your ESX city is up the same afternoon.

Why ESX teams host with us
ESX Legacy from the recipe list
Choose the txAdmin server type at checkout, open txAdmin from your panel's Overview tab and enter the setup PIN. Sign in with your Cfx.re account, pick ESX Legacy from the recipes, and txAdmin downloads the framework and builds your server.cfg.
The current ESX Legacy line keeps its own inventory, esx_lib, notifications, progress bars, text UI and multicharacter in the [core] folder, so a fresh recipe is a working base rather than a bare skeleton.
Your data lives in a database you can open
ESX keeps jobs, grades, items and shop vehicles in database tables: jobs, job_grades, items and vehicles. That suits teams where staff tune the economy without touching Lua. The database host, port, name, user and password are under Settings in your panel, ready to paste into HeidiSQL or any MySQL tool.
The admin group lives there too, in the group column of a player's row in the users table, so promoting a co-owner is one edit.
Bring the scripts you already own
Years of ESX scripts exist, free and paid, and if you hire a developer from the FiveM scene there is a good chance they have written ESX code. Upload your resources in the Files tab or over SFTP, add an ensure line to server.cfg and restart.
Two things to check first. ESX and QBCore scripts are not interchangeable, so a QBCore only script needs a version or bridge from its author. And older free ESX scripts that use mysql-async or the old ESX = nil pattern often need updating before they run on current ESX. Press Backup in the panel before each new resource, and restore if one breaks the city.
Plans for an ESX city
A typical ESX roleplay server with a few dozen scripts and up to 32 players runs on the Standard plan: 8 GB of RAM for $19.99 a month, half off the first month for new customers. Heavy car packs and MLO maps move you to Pro with 12 GB, or Elite with 16 GB for a busy 48 slot server.
Every server needs a free Cfx.re license key from portal.cfx.re, which you paste at checkout. A free key allows up to 48 players.

How to join your FiveM server
- 1
Install FiveM from fivem.net on a PC that owns Grand Theft Auto V, and start it once so it can set itself up.
- 2
Press F8 in the FiveM main menu to open the console.
- 3
Type connect
203.0.113.24:30120and press Enter. - 4
Wait for the server's files to download the first time. Once your server is in the FiveM server list, friends can also search for
My FiveM Server.
Common problems
Server is not in the list yet
Connecting with F8 and connect 203.0.113.24:30120 always works. A new server can take a while to appear in the FiveM server list, and it only shows while the server is started in txAdmin.
Stuck downloading or "Couldn't load resource"
Big roleplay servers download hundreds of megabytes on the first join. Let it finish. If it keeps failing, clear the FiveM cache (the data folder's cache, server-cache and server-cache-priv folders) and join again.
Your GTA V must be up to date
FiveM needs a legal, up to date copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC from Steam, Epic Games or Rockstar Games. Story mode does not need to be finished.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Common questions
Can I run ESX on my FiveM server?
Yes. Choose the txAdmin server type, open txAdmin from your panel and pick the ESX Legacy recipe. Your database details are filled in for you.
How do I connect HeidiSQL to my database?
The database host, port, name, user and password are under Settings in your panel. Paste them into HeidiSQL or any MySQL tool.
Do QBCore scripts work on ESX?
Not directly. They call different exports and events and expect different database tables. Some script authors ship both versions, so check each script's page.
Why does my old ESX script not start?
Older free ESX scripts often use mysql-async or the old ESX = nil pattern, which current ESX Legacy no longer expects. Look for an updated version or update the script.
How do I make myself admin on ESX?
Set the group column to admin in your row of the users table, then restart. You are already txAdmin's master admin as the account that set it up.
Is ESX still maintained?
Yes. ESX Legacy is actively maintained, had releases in 2026, and is one of the default recipes in txAdmin.
Do I need a license key?
Yes. Every FiveM server needs a free license key from the Cfx.re portal (portal.cfx.re). Sign in with your Cfx.re account, open Server Keys, generate one and paste it at checkout. You can change it later in Settings.
Can I run QBCore, Qbox or ESX?
Yes. Choose the txAdmin server type, open txAdmin from your panel and pick a recipe. It downloads the framework and sets up the server for you.
How many players can join?
Up to 48, which is the most a free Cfx.re license key allows. Plans are sized by RAM, so pick more memory for heavy scripts and maps rather than more slots.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
