Satisfactory Update 1.2 left Experimental and went live for everyone on 2 June 2026, launching on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at the same time (Coffee Stain on Steam, 2 June 2026). For servers it brings Unreal Engine 5.6.1, Game Modes that apply in multiplayer, and server fixes up to v1.2.4.0 (11 August 2026).
What is in the Satisfactory 1.2 update?
Update 1.2 is a free content and engine update. It first opened on the Experimental branch on 17 March 2026, went through patches v1.2.1.0 to v1.2.2.2 there, and reached the stable branch on 2 June 2026. The headline additions from the official patch notes:
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Weather | Rain returns with thunder, fog and wetness, occluded by buildings. Frequency and intensity are set in a new World settings tab. |
| Vehicle paths rework | Vehicle paths are now built with the build gun from the Transport tab, much like railways. Old automated routes keep working. |
| Fluid Trucks and Fluid Stations | Move fluids by road. Both hold 3200 m³ and unlock in Tier 5 with Logistics Mk.4. |
| Game Modes | Cost multipliers and world randomization, picked when you create a new game. Achievements stay on. |
| Creative Mode | The old Advanced Game Settings, renamed. Still disables achievements. |
| Daisy chaining | Upgraded Power Connectors let buildings pass power to each other. |
| SPWN, Pipeline T-Junction, Cross Beam | New buildables. |
| Controller | Dynamic gamepad swap and rebindable controller keys. |
| Engine | Unreal Engine 5.6.1, which Coffee Stain says brings performance improvements across the board. |
It was also the first Satisfactory update to launch on PC and consoles at once, and every patch since then has shipped to all platforms together.
Do Game Modes work on a dedicated server?
Yes. The patch notes say any Game Mode settings active on a save "will also apply during multiplayer sessions". There are two catches for server owners:
- You pick them when the save is created. Game Modes only appear when you start a new game. On a dedicated server, the admin creates the new session from Server Manager and sets them there.
- They are permanent for that save. Once a cost multiplier or randomization is on, it cannot be turned off for that world. Agree on settings with your group first.
The options include Space Elevator deliverable cost from 0.25x up to 100x, recipe part cost from 0.25x to 2x, power consumption from 0.25x to 5x, resource node randomization (for example Fossil Fuel Rich) and node purity from All Pure to All Impure. A world seed is shown so friends can recreate the map, though other settings have to be matched by hand.
The new real pause menu, where pressing Esc stops the game, is single player only. It is disabled in multiplayer, so a dedicated server keeps running when you open the menu.
Which 1.2 patches fixed dedicated server problems?
Several patches since April 2026 target servers directly. These are the fixes that matter if you run one:
| Patch | Date | Server relevant fixes |
|---|---|---|
| v1.2.2.0 (Experimental) | 28 April 2026 | Fixed the server crashing when a specified port is out of range, a Server API socket allocation fix, a sign subsystem crash on servers, wrong weather menus in server settings, a rare server crash with conveyor lifts and pipelines, and a crash for clients joining late game sessions. |
| v1.2.3.0 | 11 June 2026 | First patch with the exact same build on every platform. Memory leak fixes for Drones and multiplayer camera fixes. |
| v1.2.3.1 | 24 June 2026 | FSR 4, console crash fixes, and Server Manager popups that now confirm properly on a controller. |
| v1.2.4.0 | 11 August 2026 | Fixed Dedicated Server admin access being "constantly lost", fixed session names being blurred on dedicated servers, fixed blueprints failing when the session name has invalid characters, plus fixes for players stuck on loading screens when joining and frozen after riding self driving vehicles. |
The v1.2.4.0 admin fix is the big one. Before it, some owners had to sign in with the admin password again every time they opened Server Manager. If you still see that, update the server. Our guide on resetting the Satisfactory admin password covers the cases where the password itself is lost.

Do Satisfactory mods work on 1.2?
Yes, once they are updated. The Satisfactory Mod Loader released version 3.12.0 on 6 June 2026 with "Satisfactory 1.2 (CL#491125) support", including Windows server and Linux server builds (SML releases on GitHub). Mods built for 1.1 need their own update before they load on 1.2, so check each mod on ficsit.app before you update a modded server. The full process is in how to install mods on a Satisfactory server.
What this means for your server
- Update the server and every player. The server and clients must be on the same build. A server on 1.1 will refuse 1.2 players and the other way round.
- Back up the save first. A save opened on a newer version should not be expected to load on an older one. Copy the save from the server's
SaveGames/serverfolder before the first 1.2 start. - Expect more memory use on big worlds. Weather, new vehicles and Fluid Trucks add simulation work. If your factory was already near its RAM limit, see Satisfactory dedicated server requirements.
- Decide on Game Modes before you start a new world. They cannot be changed later.
- Rebuild vehicle routes with the new paths when convenient. Old routes keep working, but new paths built with the build gun are more reliable.
- Check the ports if you self host. The server still uses 7777 over UDP and TCP and a reliable messaging port over TCP (8888 by default). The out of range port crash fixed in v1.2.2.0 means a typo in
-Port=now fails cleanly instead of crashing.
If players cannot connect after updating, our Satisfactory can't connect guide walks through Server Manager errors one by one.
Running 1.2 on a GamezServers server
Our Satisfactory servers update themselves every time they start, so a restart from the panel puts you on the newest stable build. If you want to test the next patch early, switch Game branch to Experimental in the panel, but every player then needs the experimental branch too. Plans are 8 GB for 19.99 USD, 12 GB for 29.99 USD and 16 GB for 39.99 USD per month, with 50% off the first month for new customers. See Satisfactory server hosting.
FAQ
When did Satisfactory 1.2 come out?
Update 1.2 released on the stable branch on 2 June 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It had been on the Experimental branch since 17 March 2026.
What is the latest Satisfactory version?
As of early October 2026 the latest patch is v1.2.4.0, released on 11 August 2026 for all platforms.
Can I use Game Modes on an existing save?
No. Game Modes are only offered when you create a new game, and once active they cannot be turned off for that save.
Will my 1.1 save work on a 1.2 server?
Yes, 1.1 saves load on 1.2, and Coffee Stain kept old automated vehicle routes working. Back the save up first so you can roll back if anything goes wrong.
Does the 1.2 pause menu pause a dedicated server?
No. The real pause menu only works in single player and is disabled in multiplayer sessions.
Why do I keep losing admin access on my Satisfactory server?
That was a known bug fixed in v1.2.4.0. Update and restart the server so it runs the same build as your game.
