Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.50, the Wilderness Bound game drop, released on September 15, 2026, followed by the 26.52 hotfix on September 25 (Minecraft.net, September 15, 2026). The current Bedrock Dedicated Server is 1.26.52.3. Update your server so players on the new version can keep joining.

What is in Minecraft Bedrock 26.50 Wilderness Bound?

Wilderness Bound is the third game drop of 2026. It shipped the same day on Java as 26.3, and it turns the features that sat behind the "Drop 3 of 2026" experiment in 26.40 into normal gameplay.

Addition What it is
Dappled Forest An autumn biome with poplar trees in red, orange and yellow, red shrubs and shelf mushrooms
Poplar wood A full new wood set
Abandoned Camps A new structure with loot, plus explorer maps that lead to camps in other biomes
Cushions Placeable seats in every wool colour
Straw Beds Sleep through the night without changing your spawn point
Wool and concrete stairs and slabs 16 colours each

Two other changes are worth knowing on a multiplayer world. Parties left beta and the /party command now sends a message to your current party. And entity files in add-ons now go through stricter schema checks from format version 1.26.50, so a broken custom entity that used to load quietly may now fail with a content log error.

Which Bedrock server version do I need?

Players on 26.52 need a server on the matching version. As of October 3, 2026, Mojang's download service lists these Bedrock Dedicated Server builds:

Build Version
Current release (Windows and Linux) 1.26.52.3
Preview 1.26.60.29

Bedrock is strict about versions. A phone or console that updated to 26.52 shows "Outdated server" on a server that is still on 1.26.50 or older. Mojang rolled 26.52 out over several days: September 25 for Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, ChromeOS and Android, September 28 for iOS and iPadOS, and September 29 for Nintendo Switch (Bedrock 26.52 hotfix changelog). During a rollout like that, players on different devices can briefly be on different versions, which is why one friend can join and another cannot. Our Bedrock outdated server fix walks through it.

The 26.52 hotfix itself is small: projectiles no longer hit players in Spectator mode, cushions no longer vanish when their chunk reloads, and some older worlds with Marketplace add-ons get their achievements back.

What changed for Bedrock servers since June 2026?

The three releases since June each changed something for dedicated servers.

26.30 Chaos Cubed (June 16, 2026): the allowlist is on by default

The official 26.30 changelog says: "Dedicated servers now have the allow list enabled by default in the server.properties, and will display a warning on server startup if the allow list is enabled but contains no entries." A new server with an empty allowlist lets nobody in, and players see "You are not invited to this server". Add players with:

allowlist add "Gamertag"

or set allow-list=false in server.properties for an open server. Existing servers that already had a server.properties keep their setting. Our Bedrock whitelist guide covers allowlist.json and XUIDs.

The same release added Parties, groups of up to 15 (you plus 14 friends) that move between worlds and Realms together, and new system_behavior_packs and system_resource_packs folders on the dedicated server for packs that load automatically into the world.

26.40 (August 4, 2026): seed hidden from non operators

The 26.40 changelog fixed non operator players on a dedicated server being able to see the world seed in Game Settings. The seed and copy seed button are now hidden for them. It also says game servers "now attempt to self-repair some player connection issues", and the game now shows a specific error if you add an external server with an address and port that are already in your list. Wilderness Bound content first appeared here behind an experiment.

26.50 Wilderness Bound (September 15, 2026)

The drop above, with stricter add-on entity validation and Parties out of beta.

What this means for your server

  • Update the server now. Anyone on a device that has updated to 26.52 cannot join an older server.
  • Back up before updating. Worlds load forward, not backward. Once a world opens on 1.26.52.3, do not take it back to an older server.
  • Test add-ons. If you run custom behavior packs with entities, check the content log after updating. Stricter schema checks can stop a broken entity from loading.
  • Check the allowlist on new servers. A fresh server since 26.30 starts with the allowlist on. Add your group or turn it off.
  • Expect a new release in a few weeks. A 1.26.60 preview server is already out, which usually means the next Bedrock version is on the way. No release date has been announced.
