To install Super Structures on an ARK: Survival Ascended server, add CurseForge mod ID 940003 to the server's mod list (-mods=940003 on the start line, first in the list if you run other mods) and restart. The server downloads it, and players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation get it automatically when they join, because it is cross platform. Settings go in a [SuperStructures] section at the bottom of the server's GameUserSettings.ini, edited while the server is stopped.

What you are working with

Thing What it is
Super Structures Ascended The ASA building and quality of life mod by Legendarsreign, CurseForge project ID 940003
S+ (Structures Plus) The original ARK: Survival Evolved mod by Orionsun. It was never released for ASA
-mods= The ASA launch option that lists CurseForge project IDs, separated by commas
[SuperStructures] The ini section the mod reads its options from, in the server's GameUserSettings.ini
Tool wheel Hold N on PC (double tap left bumper on console) for the transfer, demo, repair and command tools

Super Structures Ascended brings the S+ ideas to ASA: resource pulling into the crafting UI from nearby containers and dinos, a transfer tool, and automation structures like the Nanny, Gardener, Farmer, Animal Tender, Item Collector and Mutator. The ARK wiki page for the mod lists every structure and option.

The ID trap: Workshop numbers do not work in ASA

Search "Super Structures" or "S+" and the first results are often the Steam Workshop pages for ARK: Survival Evolved, such as 1999447172. Those IDs do nothing on an ASA server. Survival Ascended only loads mods from CurseForge, by project ID, and the project ID for Super Structures Ascended is 940003. You find it on the right side of the CurseForge page under About Project.

If you paste a Workshop number, or the mod's name instead of the number, the server starts without the mod and nobody sees an error in game. Copy the number from CurseForge every time.

Before you start

  • Back up the save. Adding a mod is safe, but removing one later deletes everything built from it. Keep a copy of ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks/ from before.
  • Know your other mods. Note every ID already on the server so you can put them back in the right order.
  • Update the game. After a big ASA patch, wait for the mod to be updated too. A mod that lags behind the game can stop the server loading.

Step 1: Stop the server

ARK writes GameUserSettings.ini when it shuts down, so any edit made while it runs is overwritten. Stop it first and wait until it is fully off.

Step 2: Add the mod ID

Add 940003 to the start line:

ArkAscendedServer.exe TheIsland_WP?listen?SessionName=MyServer -mods=940003

With other mods, separate the IDs with commas and no spaces:

-mods=940003,928708,929420

On GamezServers you do not edit the start line: put the IDs in the CurseForge mod IDs setting in the panel, and we add -mods= for you.

Step 3: Get the load order right

When two mods change the same thing, ARK gives priority to the ID that comes first in the list. Super Structures replaces a lot of building behaviour, so most servers put it first and smaller tweaks after it. If another building or storage mod seems to win over Super Structures (its items missing, or the pull button not working on its containers), move 940003 to the front and restart.

Position What usually goes there
First Super Structures Ascended (940003)
Next Other big content mods: creatures, maps add-ons, item packs
Last Small quality of life tweaks, UI mods, stack size changes

Step 4: Start the server and check

Start the server and let it finish. The first start with a new mod takes longer while it downloads. Join and open the engram list: the Super Structures items, like the Nanny and the Transfer Tool, should be there, and holding N should open the tool wheel.

Step 5: Add your settings (optional)

The mod works without any settings. To change ranges or switch tools off, stop the server, open ShooterGame/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/GameUserSettings.ini and add a section at the very bottom:

[SuperStructures]
ResourcePullRangeInFoundations=30
ResourceTransferCooldown=1
NannyRangeInFoundations=10
GardenerRangeInFoundations=10
AllowAdminToDemoAnyTribeWithDemoGun=False
DisableResourcePulling=False

The header must be exactly [SuperStructures]. The options have to be on the server's file. Putting them in your own game's ini does nothing on a dedicated server.

Setting Default What it does
ResourcePullRangeInFoundations 25 How far crafting stations pull resources from, in foundations
ResourceTransferCooldown 1 Seconds between pulls
NannyRangeInFoundations 10 Nanny feeding range
AnimalTenderRangeInFoundations 50 Animal Tender range
FarmerRangeInFoundations 30 Farmer range
DisableResourcePulling False True turns the pull system off for everyone

Does Super Structures work with crossplay?

Yes. It is marked cross platform on CurseForge, so Xbox and PlayStation players can join a server running it and download it automatically. That only holds as long as every other mod on the server is cross platform too. One PC only mod in the list locks console players out. See ARK: Survival Ascended crossplay servers for the rest of the crossplay checklist.

Common problems

  • No Super Structures items in game: the ID is wrong (a Workshop number or a typo), or there is a space after a comma in the list. Use 940003 with commas only.
  • Server stuck loading after adding it: the mod is waiting on an update for the latest ASA patch, or another mod in the list is broken. Remove mods one at a time to find it.
  • Ini settings ignored: you edited the file while the server ran, the [SuperStructures] header is missing, or you edited a client ini. Stop the server, fix it, start.
  • Console friends cannot join: another mod on the server is not cross platform.
  • Pull button does nothing on a storage box: the container has an asterisk in its name, which tells the mod to skip it, or your tribe rank does not allow activating it.
  • All S+ structures vanished: the mod was removed from the list, even for one start. Put the ID back and restore the backup from before.

The easy way

On an ARK: Survival Ascended server from GamezServers you paste 940003 into CurseForge mod IDs, restart, and the server downloads it. The file manager edits GameUserSettings.ini in the browser (stop the server first), and a one click Backup before changing mods keeps your base safe. What is the Super Structures mod ID for ARK Survival Ascended?

940003, the CurseForge project ID for Super Structures Ascended. Steam Workshop IDs from ARK: Survival Evolved do not work in ASA.
